EXCEPTIONS TO CRITERIA RULES:

Injuries which prevent a skater from competing will be dealt with separately by the Competitive Skating Programs Committee.  A medical certificate may be required.

Skaters who train out-of-Province are not required to attend NB Sectionals if there are four or less entered in the event.  However, they must attend another similarly sanctioned Skate Canada or ISU competition prior to being named to Team NB.
Skaters who train in-Province and wish to attend another Skate Canada Sectionals, due to four or less being entered in the event at NB Sectionals, will be taken on a case-by-case basis.

Skaters who train in- or out-of-Province may not be required to attend NB Fall Skate if they obtain the approval of the Competitive Skating Programs Committee chair or if there are four or less entered in the event, if they submit a protocol from another sanctioned Skate Canada or ISU competition held within two weeks of NB Fall Skate.

Skaters must consult with and obtain approval from the Competitive Skating Programs Committee chair regarding the above prior to the event in question.

OTHER

Skaters are responsible for forwarding their protocols to the Chair of the Competitive Skating Program Committee, when competing out-of-Province.

Skaters transferring from others Sections who wish to qualify for Team NB must qualify under the residency rule in place (must reside in the Province of New Brunswick at least six months prior to NB Sectionals).

Those Pre-Novice and above team members representing Skate NB at Challenge or Canadian Figure Skating Championships are entitled to a Skate NB team on ice outfit (SIX-O) and off ice jacket (Chandlers) on a cost-sharing basis. Those alternate skaters for Challenge (5th place) are entitled to an off ice (Chandlers) jacket on a cost-sharing basis.

For all Junior and below events, a skater/team must be Junior age eligible in order to qualify for Team NB or to receive funding (shares, PET, Exposure Award, Skate for Gold).

Team members are entitled to apply for Exposure Award and PET funding twice per year. Recipients must attend the Spring Seminar.

For the purposes of identifying up and coming young skaters, Rising Stars (roughly top 3 in pee wee, top 5 in pre juvenile (U11) and top 5 in juvenile (U11)) may be invited to seminars/monitoring sessions  or to participate in funding programs.
